Cosi written by Louis Nowra, directed by Simon Boyes
13-23 March 2013
Melbourne, 1971. Lewis, a recent university graduate, has been employed by the local psychiatric hospital to direct some of the patients in a dramatic production. It's a chance for Lewis to gain some experience and money, and it's an experiment in developing the social skills and confidence of his charges. What he doesn't expect is that one of the patients, Roy, has already decided that the group will stage Cosi fan Tutte, Mozart's ambitious three-hour-long comic opera. A pity, then, that none of the cast can speak Italian - or sing opera!

The God Boy written by Ian Cross, directed by Mary Coffey
22 May - 1 June 2013
Based on the classic New Zealand 1957 novel of the same name, this is the powerful and moving story of young Jimmy Sullivan. As an 11-year-old Jimmy believed he was 'a boy that God has his eye on'. That was until his parents' turbulent and unhappy marriage finally broke down with tragic consequences. A play that will rip at an audience's heart and soul, The God Boy's themes of the vulnerability of children and the inability of faith to compensate for betrayal are still all too familiar in today's society.

6-16 November 2013
Commissioned for Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in 2010, Anne Boleyn was described by Time Out as making 'religion sexy and doctrinal disputes bloody good fun. The tale of the life and legacy of Henry VIII's notorious second wife is juxtaposed with the court of King James I, 100 years later where James has found alarming evidence that Anne was a religious conspirator with the most dangerous ideas of her day.
