The haunting begins after All Souls
Day at the Gryphon Theatre, where The Woman in Black will make its ghostly,
ghastly appearance to thrill and chill all souls who dare to behold this grim
and terrifying tale. The Play
This play opened in 1989 in London and never closed, making it
now the second-longest running play on the West End. In 2012 it was made into a
film, starring Daniel Radcliffe, and became the highest grossing British horror
film in 20 years. “The Woman in Black” is the ultimate thriller/ghost
story and a must see.
The PlotA middle-aged lawyer hires a younger actor to
tutor him in recounting to family and friends a tale that has long haunted
him. Several years earlier the lawyer visited the house of a dead elderly
recluse and there caught sight of the Woman in Black – a spectre
which terrifies the local population and about whom it is said that anyone who
sees her suffers tragedy. As the two men rehearse the lawyer’s story it
comes alive, in all its terrifying aspects. | |
