Effie's Burning by Valerie Windsor
Summary: Effie's Burning has been described as 'an emotional switchback of a play'. It's a taut and powerful, but often funny, drama about the suprising power of victims. Once labelled a 'moral defective', Effie Palmer has been in care since the age of 13. Now she is in hospital, badly burned in a fire for which no cause can be found. Gradually her doctor, young Ruth Kovacs, discovers the truth of Effie's life, the truth of the fire and, eventually, the courage to confront the face of 'the system' that kept them both defenceless.

Effie - Christine Hunt
Dr Ruth Kovacs - Kate Sanders
Mr Jessop Brown - Robert Hickey
Jack Winter's Dream by James K Baxter
Summary: Jack Winter's Dream is a beautiful, lyrical play for voices, not dissimilar in style to Dylan Thomas' Under Milk Wood. It takes the audience through the final night in the life of Jack Winter in the gold rush of Central Otago. As he lies in a shanty pub, Jack dreams. Before the night of drinking and entertainment is out, there is a seduction, a robbery and a murder. This is James K Baxter at his best.
