Summary: 'Welcome to Hollywood, a place just off the coast of planet Earth.'
On 15 November 1924, a glittering collection of famous movie stars, producers, directors and writers boarded the media tycoon William Randolph Hurst’s private yacht for a weekend party cruise. The mysterious death of one of those guests has become the stuff of Hollywood legend.
Set in the heights of the decadent jazz age, Stagecraft Theatre’s first play of 2014, The Cat’s Meow, revels in the scandals, secrets and salacious gossip of the time, all set to the sounds of a live jazz band and singer, the stomping steps of Charleston dancers and the occasional gun shot.
Come aboard and join the party. Just watch your back.
