Archive: Play It Again, Sam by Woody Allen

Summary: Allan has an unfortunate love life. His wife has left him. His friends try to set him up with girls, but every date ends in disaster. His imaginary mentor, Humphrey Bogart, gives him advice on how to handle 'dames'. Then, Allan falls for his best friend's wife and nothing is the same again...

With a title based on the oft-misquoted line from Casablanca, Play it Again, Sam is Woody Allen at his best.

Performed over 450 times on Broadway with Allen himself in the leading role and turned into a film in 1972, Play it Again, Sam still ranks as one of the most popular plays performed on American stages.

With characteristic wit and neuroses, Play it Again, Sam is smart, adult comedy.

Stagecraft Theatre took audiences back to the swinging 60s where broads, swingers, freaks, nymphomaniacs and dental hygienists are all on the list for the hottest of dates.
